- Home of delicious brands people have loved for more than 100 years
As a leading food company in the UK and Ireland, we’re proud to make and look after
so many beloved brands and products that have delighted consumers here for more
than a century. And we’ve been helping consumers stock their cupboards with leading
brands like Cadbury, Kenco and Belvita.
Our skilled and dedicated team of more than 6,000 employees produces our tasty products
in 13 locations across the UK and Ireland.
At our famous Bournville manufacturing facility, in the city of Birmingham, we make
life a little bit sweeter for so many consumers with our iconic Cadbury chocolates,
including our celebrated Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate. Each year, our employees
work hard to produce around 47 million Easter Eggs, more than 300 million bars of
Fairtrade Cadbury Dairy Milk and around 300 million Cadbury Creme Eggs chocolate.
And, every 24 hours, almost six million bars of chocolate and 10 million assortment
units including Roses and Cadbury Heroes.
Our Banbury facility is the largest instant coffee plant in the Mondelēz International
network and produces 100 million jars of instant coffee per year. In addition, we’re
pleased to run global Research & Development centres of excellence for chocolate
in Bournville and for coffee in Banbury and analytical sciences in Reading. Our
UK main office is located in Uxbridge and our Ireland main office in Coolock, Dublin.
In addition to our Bournville and Banbury facilities, we run six manufacturing plants
throughout the UK and Ireland, which produce many adored brands, including Bassett’s
Jelly Babies and Oreos in Sheffield. And our Coolock factory in Dublin produces
the much loved chocolate brands Twirl, Flake and Time Out.
We also run our whimsical
Cadbury World in Bournville. More than 600, 000 people visited
the attraction in 2012 to discover where chocolate comes from, how it’s made, and
learn about the Cadbury family.
We're deeply committed to reducing our impact on the environment and helping support
sustainable farming practices. In fact, all of the beans used for our Kenco
coffee are harvested from
Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. Our Fairtrade Cadbury Dairy Milk
chocolate has been available in the UK and Ireland since July 2009, and we added
our range of hot chocolate beverages to our Fairtrade line at the end of 2010.
In addition, we’re strongly committed to the communities where we operate and we’re
proud to be a part of them. We invest over £4 million each year in our UK and Ireland
communities through cash, gifts in kind and employee time. And we support healthy
lifestyles with our 5 year Health for Life programme in South Birmingham,
which enables school children and local communities to grow and cook healthy food
whilst encouraging a healthy lifestyle. Over 60,000 school pupils and teachers will
take part over the course of the programme.
We also continue to invest in our local communities in the UK and cocoa growing
regions in Africa through the Cadbury Foundation which dates back to 1935. The Foundation
provides grants for a select number of projects to ensure funds have the maximum
